GTA IV - Xbox 360

Limited Edition GTA IV Xbox 360

Xbox gamers are set to recieve yet another blow as it has been suggested by Rockstar’s own Creative VP, Dan Houser, that the exclusive DLC that was originaly set for release this Autumn and that was pushed back to this month may now not even arrive this year.

This news may come hard to swallow for the GTA-IV fans who purchased the Xbox 360 just to take advantage of the exclusive content for the game on that console, as it was hinted this autumn that the so-called “Exclusive” DLC may well arrive on the PS3 also. Sony’s Computer Entertainment UK boss Ray Maguire was recently quoted as saying “One thing to remember: nothing is ever exclusive,”.

It is believed that Microsoft placed $50,000,000  down to secure the exclusive content for the 360, or to be more precise $25,000,000 for each of the two DLC packs upon release.

Dan Houser stated that a date for “Exclusive DLC” would be announced “in the next few weeks”, and that work on the packs is going well. It looks like Xbox 360 owners will just have to be patient and maybe hope for a special chirstmas launch.

Xbox 360, Wii & PS3

Xbox 360, Wii & PS3

Last weeks Japanese console and game sales figures have rolled in, and in a fantastic role reversal the PS3 has outweighed both the Xbox 360 and Wii sales. To be precise the PS3 sold 6 and a half times as many units as the 360 and almost double the amount of the Wii.

So after many weeks of slow sales for the PS3, the release of GTA IV and Little Big Planet have breathed a new breath of life into the beast that is the PS3. And with the lineup of games currently heading to the ps3 sureley things can only keep getting better for this powerful system.

But overall Nintendo was still leading the market with the release of its new version of the handheld DS, the DSi. And as there are mass shortages all over Japan with nowhere near enough units to meet the buyers demands we can only see the sales increasing for the coming weeks.

Here is a list of top 5 selling consoles and the top 5 selling games in Japan in the week ending 2nd of November:

Consoles:

  1. DSi - 171,925 sales
  2. PSP - 50,358 sales
  3. PS3 - 39,587 sales
  4. Wii - 23,123 sales
  5. DS Lite - 16,369 sales

Games:

  1. Grand Theft Auto IV - 132,676 sales
  2. Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One - 79,760 sales
  3. Little Big Planet - 51,705 sales
  4. PokeMon Platinum - 47,243 sales
  5. Wagamama Fashion: Girls Mode - 40,380 sales
